Conceptual

I would like to thank many of the people over at DeviantArt for their take on retro and vintage stuff. Amid the various Artistic Nude shots and the Pin Up sections I was able to find several great images which helped me understand how the art of RETRO was devised. One imaged that was the cornerstone of my retro design would be deviant =ka05, and the image RETRO TAKEOVER. This image can be seen here.

Photoshop and such

DeviantArt also has a host of every talented Photoshop Brush designers. The two that I would like to thank are SUDDS and 1lovesdevine. Their work can be seen by clicking on their names. If I have forgotten your name or a work, please contact me at the address above!

Imagery

This is the big one.

I would like to thank harmichy for the awesome image of NY buildings. The image can be seen on the profile in the link. I applied a few filters and played with the settings to get it to look vintage and washed out. This image helps tie the vintage feel of the site into the modern and city-based design of previous versions of the site. It also helps add cohesion to the name. It's a perfect image.

Another photo that just caught my eye and kept it there was an image that stands awake and alive on DeviantArt. It is the "Listening to retro music" photo by XenonophobiA who was the model for it, and the image is absolutely stunning. There are some beautiful models to be found on DA, but the color, image, and expression on the image here was too much not to use in my retro design. I modified it and added a retro touch to it to calm down the intensity, but the image still shines.
